PixDither will stylize your footage back in time during the days of limited color palettes!
PixDither is an Adobe After Effects plugin that will quantize your 8 or 16 bit per channel color footage back in time to the days of restricted color palettes. Featuring over 20 color palettes and dithering methods paying homage to classic video hardware such as the Commodore 64 and even the more modern simulated environments such as the PICO-8. PixDither can authentically recreate retro raster graphics from any footage.

v1.1 Update!
Now supports custom color palettes! The new “Custom” swatch option will utilize the Adobe Swatch Exchange(.ase) file format that software such as Illustrator and Photoshop are capable of exporting within their swatch menu. Expand your color palette selection utilizing sites such as ColourLovers and Kuler! In the effects panel select the new “Load Palette” label and browse to your swatch file of choice. The palette will then be loaded into the effect and will persist within your After Effects project independent of the file on disk. The new “Reset palette” option will reverse the currently loaded palette back to the default palette state or you may load in another palette which will overwrite any previous one loaded in before. Swatch colors in LAB, CYMK, and Grayscale color space will automatically be converted into RGB with no loss in color precision.
New backend optimizations have been made to welcome the arbitrary amount of colors that the user may import. New speedups allow the effect to welcome up to thousands upon thousands of colors and still reach rapid-iteration speeds.
